3 Easy, Money-Making Internet Business Models

October 12th, 2009 Charlie No comments

Amid all the noise and hype on the Internet today, not many people realize that all the ideas and techniques you can find are petty much useless if you don’t first understand your business model. In other words, even the most amazing Internet marketing technique will not work if you don’t understand how to apply it to YOUR business.

The 3 most popular business models are:

1) Affiliate Marketing

This is perhaps the most popular one out there, since there are absolutely no barriers to entry. Almost anyone can sign-up for an affiliate program for free and start promoting the product or service on the Internet with hopes that someone will buy, giving them instant commissions. Affiliate marketers don’t carry any risk, since they do not pay for the creation of the product, they do not handle customer service and they do not need any up-front investments.

When you consider that those are the top three things people want to avoid, it’s no surprise that almost everyone and their neighbor promotes an affiliate program or another. In fact, if there is a single reason why the Internet today is so proliferated with ads and banners, it’s because of affiliate programs.

Even though there are so many affiliate marketers out there, only 5% ever make any money and only 1% makes big money. The “Super Affiliates” do it very differently from all the other millions; therefore they earn the big checks.

2) E-book and Information Publishing

Sitting at the other end of the spectrum, e-book authors need to be more disciplined in their approach to Internet marketing. Of course, they also need to invest more than affiliates do. While affiliates can get away trying to “get something for nothing” the same is not true for the e-book type of business.

If you’re thinking about publishing and selling your own e-book online, and you think it’s going to be easy, think again. You’ll need to learn a lot more than affiliates are required to. You’ll need to spend some amount of money getting your business up and running. However, when you do it right, the payoff in this online business model is much more rewarding.

The reason why e-book marketers and “Infopreneurs” make more money is simple; they have very, very low production and maintenance costs. Anything digital doesn’t cost a single cent to be produced in millions if necessary. Whatever initial start-up costs spent can be covered by selling just a few copies of high-margin e-books, and you can even recruit an army of affiliates who are more than willing to do all the selling for you.

Of course, it’s not as easy as it sounds, but the point is, when done properly, the “E-book Publishing” model is a truly profitable business.

3) Internet Based Network Marketing

I’ve heard many people say that the Internet and network marketing are a match made in heaven. In my opinion, though, almost 90% of people get it wrong when it comes to Internet based network marketing. People in this business usually think they’re talking about network marketing, but in reality they are talking about affiliate marketing.

They try to make the Internet do all the work. They hide behind their computers and pretend everything’s going great. They focus on selling more and more every month. They have systems that are so complicated only they can understand it. Well, that doesn’t sound like network marketing to me!

Internet based network marketing is simple if you understand it, and are willing to put in the effort. The role of the Internet here is only to get you the names and contact details of people you can talk to, after which YOU, not a computer, has to build a relationship with these people and help them to start their own business.

For this simple purpose, it is not necessary for you to have a high-tech system and pretend that your auto responder is building relationships for you. It’s not going to work. The key is to have simple systems that are duplicable, something you can teach to all those people you have built a relationship with.

E-book authors, no matter what they say, have no obligation to teach you their “Secret Strategies to Become a Millionaire” of any variations to that. The reason is simple; why tell you the absolute truth when you’ll end up as their competitor? No one wants more competitors, right?

Internet based network marketing is very much the opposite of that. You HAVE to tell people EVERYTHING you know or your business will never take off. For this reason alone, I always recommend that if you’re new to the online world, you need to first join an Internet based network marketing business at least to learn. Rest assured, no one will be selling you half-baked truths when their success ultimately depends on yours.

No matter which model you choose, make sure you understand the basics, and stop listening to and buying things that are not applicable to your business. Information overload can stop you before you even get started.

October 12th, 2009 Charlie 1 comment

If you want to start an Internet business, the best place to start is of course the Internet. You can find everything you need to plan your business and get it off the ground. The process is simple right from the start. Internet business owners offer you a chance to share in their good fortune by showing you how they make money with free information that you can print directly from the Internet. It’s not hard to start. Internet business works, and is lots of fun.

The main thing with an Internet business is to have a plan. The Internet business plan you develop will include such things as whether you want to sell your own products or use affiliate marketing to link to sites that do sell products. Right from the start, Internet business owners need to choose a domain name that will bring customers to the site and provide information and products that they need.

Learn from the experts that already have and use an Internet business plan. For example, you can do an online search for a product and then look through the first site to see what qualities it has that make it rank so high in the search engines. This is the technique you need to employ to help you make money when you start an Internet business. Typically, the experts will tell you that you need to plan so that your Internet business should come up in the first two pages of search results.

Therefore, you need to have a niche that targets a specific product or group of people in your Internet business plan. This ensures that customers will visit your site. Look at programs on the Internet that will search through the keywords that people use when searching for a specific product. This is the best place to start. Internet business owners take the keywords and build pages on their site around the most frequently used keywords.

You don’t need to have a flair for writing to start an Internet business. Even a simple link on a page of the Internet site will bring customers to an affiliate where they can purchase the product they want to purchase. After you start the Internet business, you can include articles about the product or even a basic description with a link provided so that customers can order directly from you or another company with an Internet presence. No matter where your interests lie, there is a business waiting for you on the Internet.

Need to start an Internet business? It’s not that hard there are well known ways to do it.

Failure And Feedback As A Business Strategy

October 10th, 2009 Charlie 4 comments

When you look at all the most successful businesspeople, online entrepreneurs, and affiliate marketers, they all share one common characteristic. They’re successful. On top of that, they share one other: every single one of them failed time and time again to get to where they are today. Feedback, reflection and analysis formed the backbone of their recovery, and with their newly found knowledge, they were able to project themselves forward to massive online success.

It’s funny, this type of feedback and reflection is provided day by day to major corporations and companies. Major Fortune 500 companies pay thousands of dollars every month just to allow customers to give their feedback. In a way, this is simply a micro-cycle of the entrepreneur’s failure. Instead of failing themselves, they allow their customers to preemptively point out where they will fail, and save them the cost and time of rolling out a product that’s bound to a less-than-perfect market life.

This kind of value doesn’t occur in advertising labs, or research and development offices. It happens when consumers get together and talk about what it is that they truly like. Whether you’re a buyer, seller, or just someone that’s interested in the market, this phenomenon of corporate culture puts a massive value on your abilities. Simply by pointing out this market ability, you can change the impact of a product.

It really makes you think — how will companies take advantage of the increasing flatness of the internet? Already they’re paying customers thousands of dollars to provide feedback, and it’s inevitable that this will go even further as the need for uber-niche products increases even more. More than anything, this fragmentation of products will provide even more opportunities for online marketers to excel in providing feedback for major corporations.

So, as much as it may seem like this career won’t last forever, it’s highly possible that it will. With services like Twitter, Facebook, and the large selection of blogging platforms providing every customer with a voice, it would be in the best interests of major companies to aggregate those voices and use them to manufacturer and market products that really do help consumers and gain their highly valuable word-of-mouth marketing from them. This kind of progress doesn’t eliminate online survey opportunities, it simply advances them and offers more opportunities for those interested.

So don’t count that online career out. With massive amounts of survey jobs available today, it’s certainly a workers market right now. The traditional economy can’t promise that, can it? With the massive downturn in employment, the value assigned to customers is increasing exponentially as they’re able to offer corporations feedback on how to keep their buyers coming in. So, don’t underestimate your skills — there’s a very good chance that you could create a lucrative online lifestyle simply by giving feedback.

Social Media And Search

October 10th, 2009 Charlie No comments

Being an internet marketer for quite a few years I have heard many people talk about the incorporation of social media into Googles algo. I have thought and thought about the subject, but find that with the majority of social medias using No Follow and usually redirecting the URL this will probably be unlikely. Even Digg.com the place where millions went to get there first backlink and get indexed into Google quickly is no longer webmaster friendly. My guess is that this is because of the importance which Google places on outgoing vs. incoming links. If your outgoing links are above your incoming links then expect to see an adverse affect on your SERPs placement and Page Rank. This incorporated with the amount of junk and spam which social sites are filled with leads me to believe that Google and other major search engines will not be looking to the social medias to find which sites are carrying the most important.

Now I would like to discuss what I have noticed which is a little different and have in common with The Free Traffic System. You can have a hundred thousand backlinks and still be at the bottom of the search engines. This happens because you are not creating and new links. Now they I wouldn’t say believe this but have theorized it. I personally put the plan into action leaving a site which was at the top of the search engines for many different keywords for months watching it fall deep into the SERPs. I made sure to keep track of my competition and noticed that not one had more backlinks or better quality backlinks than me the only thing which separated us is they were getting new backlinks.

So when you stop building backlinks you will run into this problem. Now if you decide to let a website fall deep into the SERPs and in my case pretty much off the SERPs it is very easy to get it back. It took me two weeks to get back what a year of work got me. Something interesting is now after only a couple hundred backlinks I am doing better for super competitive keywords than I was doing before I stopped. The website that I am talking about is How To Make Money Online feel free to take a look at it. The keywords which I am ranked really well for and surprised about are make money online free and make money free online right now first page for both though that can change tommorow if Google decides to switch up their algo again. Another thing to remember these are only observations which I have made on the website and are of course subject to interpertation and by no means are exactly how Google operates just a guess or estimate.

Four Reasons Why You Should Never Create Spam Emails

October 10th, 2009 Charlie No comments

It’s tempting for new email marketers to think about spamming as an option to help increase their business’ success. But experienced email marketers understand how harmful it is not just to your current campaign, but all future campaigns and even your business. We’re going to review four reasons why you should not every consider email spam for use with your campaigns.

1. You could lose your internet service
Internet service providers (ISP) are the companies that give you access to the internet and help police it. Just like any business does, Internet service providers work to ensure that they provide a superior service for their users, and when someone starts sending large amounts of email spam, it clogs up the network and uses a ton of server resources. If you’re not currently using email marketing software, read this iContact review, which has built in functionality to guard you against being flagged as spam.

Therefore, ISPs are on a constant lookout for spammers and constantly work to shut them down by removing their Internet service and/or taking down their entire website. It also is common for spammers to get sued out of a lot of money by ISPs, especially if the volume is significant. Like the software mentioned above, you may also want to check out this Vertical Response review, but ultimately if you begin spamming, you are on a slippery slope to being acted upon by your ISP, and this could easily ruin your business.

2. Your deliverability gets ruined
Popular web-based email programs such as Gmail or Hotmail all have mechanisms to protect their own users from spam. If you have ever used one of these programs regularly, you know that there is an option to mark an email as “spam.” When enough people mark a message as spam, these email service providers will blacklist future messages sent by the domain.

So what? It means that users also help police the system, and it’s easy to identify spam. When you syndicate poor quality emails and spam, you have a high probability of being blacklisted, meaning that nobody will receive your email messages when you send them.

3. Gives your company a negative reputation
This is obvious and needs no explanation. The truth is, people remember you by your email campaigns, and if the last thing people think of about your brand is being annoyed by your spam emails, there is no way they are going to remain a customer. Protect your company’s reputation by always sending out quality, opt-in emails.

4. It’s unethical
When you send out spam emails, you’re not only taking up people’s valuable time, but your also taking up network resources that other people are paying for. Spam wastes a high percentage of all bandwidth available for worldwide Internet users, and this leads to higher costs for everyone as ISPs split the cost of the extra technical needs among Internet subscribers. This is unethical, and if spammers ceased to exist, Internet access would be much cheaper than it is today.

Spamming isn’t just bad for yourself and your business, but it’s also bad for all Internet users as it takes up people’s time and money. The truth is, opt-in email marketing is very simple anyway and always leads to better results, as your subscribers are very receptive to your messages. After all, they asked to receive it! Do yourself a favor and hold off on the email spam.

Twitter Talk

October 9th, 2009 Charlie No comments

Everyone has some crazy idea about how to best use twitter. Most of these people have little to know idea what they are talking about and as usually very poor marketing professionals, or those claiming to be marketing professionals, are leading people down the wrong path.

I am going to explain the truths about twitter, how recent changes in the rules and terms of use help marketing more then it hurts it, and how to use these changes to your benefit. First of all, there has been a common misleading rumor that their is money in numbers. The belief was if you could get tens and hundreds of thousands of people following you, then you will make money. That is true, but its bad practice.

Here’s the problem. People started logging into twitter and setting up spam bots. These are programs that basically just post links to various products and services all day long. The averages of bots/spammers on twitter is through the roof. This means when you get 10,000 followers, there is a good chance 6000 to 7000 are nothing more then spammers and bots not interested in what you say or what you market. The real trick is getting 3000 to 4000 people who are actually real, talk, chat, converse with others, etc.

In the past programs like hummingbird software (WHICH I WARNED AGAINST USING!!!) were used to automate the task of following a mass amount of users, removing a mass amount of users, and returning follows from those who follow you. Recent changes in the spam policies at twitter make the use of such programs no longer allowed. If you have followed and unfollowed people in a short time period, particularly by automated means (aggressive follower churn) The creator of hummingbird software had his account closed (the irony) for using it.

Also twitter changed a lot of things so that most automation software no longer works. There are some that do still work like the catfood follower which mass removes people who don’t follow you back and mass returns follows of those who follow you. However if you get caught using these software packages you will lose your twitter account.

It is also now against the rules If you repeatedly follow and unfollow people, whether to build followers or to garner more attention for your profile. This is actually a great rule! This means chose your followers wisely. What I do is I mass follow a lot of people by targeting a search on the twitter search. Last night for example I targeted the term “started a new business”. This means anyone who said the phrase “started a new business” showed up in the search. I started following everyone who made the statement.

This method can be done over and over to gather more and more people to follow. After following the daily limit just wait (Note: This daily limit is percentage based in the beginning and can be frustrating). The following day you can do the whole process again. Now after a time you will realize you have done exactly what I advised against. You will have a list filled with spammers and bots.

The new updates in the twitter interface make handling this problem a snap. You want to log onto the twitter site and click on “following”. This shows a list of everyone you follow. Their are two types of views for this, “expanded view” and “list view”. You want to ensure you are viewing in expanded view. Expanded view shows you the most recent posts of the people you follow.

Now just scan through the list and click on anyone who posted a link. Its best to view their profile to ensure they are spamming because many non spammers do also post links. After confirming a bot or spammer, remove them from your following. By doing this you ensure all the people who YOU follow are real. You want to pay attention to what these people say and start conversations with them. These are people who spend money online. The more you talk to these people the more they trust you and your products and services.

Its okay to toss advertising and links to your blog posts to people on twitter just be careful how often you do it and make sure you are not just posting link upon link. That is okay for news website owners to do, not bloggers. Also just because you follow someone does not mean that they will follow you back! That is okay. Despite claims you shouldn’t return a follow just because someone follows you. If you do, you will not use twitter to its fullest potential because you’ll be spammed!

However, at the same time every now and again you do want to clear out the people who are not returning follows. If they NEVER return your follow its because you don’t interest them, therefore conversation with them will be fruitless. For this you shouldn’t use automated software! However there is a service called friendorfollow that tells you who you follow and who follows you back! You can use this to unfollow people who don’t return your follow.

I strongly suggest everyone check out the updated rules at twitter http://help.twitter.com/forums/26257/entries/18311

The Best Kept Twitter Marketing Secret Revealed!

October 9th, 2009 Charlie No comments

Okay so after teaching this secret, I will not likely be posting anymore about twitter for a long time. This secret is just that good. First of all let me explain a few things before I show you the secret and tell you how it works. This is a secret for blog owners and website owners. This little trick will not help anyone who is marketing affiliate products without a website. You absolutely need a website for this to work.

Okay so let me explain. When twitter first started some brilliant “marketing guru” (probably one of the fools who created hummingbird for twitter) got the funny idea in his head that the more people who follow you on twitter, the more people you have to market products and websites at. That is true, but only in its most vague form. You see because of this bad guy’s idea, massive people started looking for a means to build up their following. They paid for programs, they started following everyone they could and creating what twitter now calls follower churn.

Follower churn is the practice of following a mass amount of people then removing everyone who doesn’t follow you back. Do this enough and you build a following. There are three problems with this. One problem that has arose from this is that twitter will now ban accounts if they catch you doing follow churn techniques (trust me I’ve lost a few already). The second problem is that spammers started using this method, so now if you try it you get hundreds of spammers who don’t care about or ever visit your website. The last problem is a little more vague. The problem is building a twitter following is redundant. You already have a website, you want to get followers there! Why build two separate lists of followers? See why its redundant?

The truth is, as I have recently discovered, that you don’t need ANY twitter followers to use twitter to market a blog. You can get others to do it for you and its so easy no one even gets it. You want to know some of the websites using this method? I am sure you have heard of or visited at least one site using the method. Sites like twittrain.info, morefollowers.net, follower-power.com, followadd.com, mytweetfollowers.com, and Getmefollowers.com (highly recommended) are using this method all the time – not to build you followers but to build themselves traffic!

So you want to know what the method is and how to get it working for you?

The method is called “viral tweet code” and its completely free! Viral tweet code is a small customizable form that logs a visitor into twitter and posts a predefined message.

If I have the free viral tweet code on my website it means you are sending all your twitter followers to my website when you submit the form, and I didn’t even do anything! If I didn’t even have a twitter account I could still use this method! You are marketing my website for me!

This means a lot for anyone who owns a website or blog. This means you can put code on your website or in a post and whenever a user types in their name and password, they advertise your website for you. The trick is getting them to actually type in their password and user name. So how do you do it?

That’s just as easy. You create a page and include the code given to you when you set up free viral tweets!! This is still an unknown twitter secret and you may want in on it before every website and marketing person on twitter tries it and overwhelms the twitterverse. When that happens, people will stop typing in user names and passwords and the method will stop working!

So to create your own page just like this one you need to get the free code from Free Viral Tweets. Follow their setup. Change the text message to suit your needs, remove the entire textarea tag if you want to make the post invisable like I did, and then create your page with the code included. Sit back and wait. It only take 1 person to tweet this for you to get a viral following.

Also I want to mention this method may not show results within days of doing this. Sometimes it takes a week or two. The truth is when it starts, it never ends. People will be marketing for you on twitter forever!

Growing Your Professional IT Consulting Company

October 7th, 2009 Charlie No comments

The vast majority of Information Technology consultants in Alaska miss the boat as they try to increase their IT consulting companies in Alaska because they cannot find the courage to reject some business customers. Information Technology consultants in Alaska are poles apart from television businesses who strive to market as much product as possible and manipulate production rate based on amount required.

After customers require more product, supplementary assembly line workers are authorized to work, new plants are added, dealerships instituted, and more merchandise items are manufactured. After the appetite for the products begins to slip, facilities are shut down, workers are suspended from operations, and production terminates.

IT consulting companies in Alaska are entirely like day and night compared to this concept. Only so many billable hours exist during a day. Also of equal relevance, only so many customers in a week can be provided quality service. Remember to keep in mind that increasing business growth is not only regarding the numbers. IT consulting companies in Alaska must also enlarge the area of information technology consulting services, acquiring higher-level businesses, complementing your subject matter authority, and suggesting more current consulting services.

Most new Information Technology consultants in Alaska claim “Any business is good business and we never turn away breathing business clients.”

There can be a few things not right with this approach.

For starters, sales effort is equal across all information technology consulting price points. It takes the same amount of effort to sell $150 worth of an information technology consultant’s time as it does to sell $50,000 worth of IT consulting services.

The expense for marketing, number of telephone calls, quantity of survey questions proposed, amount of research conducted by prospective clients, are all exceptionally consistent. Seems like the only distinction appears to be the viewpoint of the information technology consultant.

Subsequently, if your firm is attempting to wrap up a sale and the sale demands similar levels of effort to market to the $350 business as it does to close the deal on a $10,000 business client, which client would your information technology consulting company desire top expend your energy chasing after? This isn’t a difficult choice. The point is obvious. Come what may, the time it consumes to entice, market, close, perform, and manage minor information technology consulting projects is unvarying for large-scale IT consulting projects. Therefore, your information technology consulting organization is not making up in volume what you could be doing in size. By continuing to admit everything that happens to comes forth, information technology consultants will continue to suffer from inferior time management and lousy growth.

The plain facts are as follows:
When your information technology consulting corporation raises your fees or pursue more complicated projects, your consulting firm will sacrifice the lower 25% of your audience. Upper-end Information Technology consultants in Alaska frequently reject the bottom 25% of their target market as a growth strategy to make available time and energy to pursue the upper-end divisions of their information technology consulting market.

IT consulting companies in Alaska cannot accept whatever happens to pass through the doors and expect to grow. For instance a website design and hosting company in Alaska that started taking on smaller clients during tough economic times. After the slow period stopped, it was difficult to move back into the the more expensive portions of their information technology consulting market. Continuing to accept everything that happens to comes forth means that your expertise and reputation are not expanding.
